Synopsis:

The series is about Allen Walker, 15yrs of age that was born with an anti-akuma weapon as an arm. This anti-akuma weapon has “Innocence” which was given to him as an apostle of God.

“Akuma” are demons made by a man called Millieniuum Earl. Akuma are made by calling out the spirit of a dead loved one. They are prisoners of the Millieniuum Earl who kills people for them to somehow “level-up”^_^ Allen was an orphan and a man named Mana cared for him like he was his son. When Mana died, Allen was left all alone. This caused so much sorrow which led him to call out Mana’s soul with the help of the Millieniuum Earl. Mana was turned into an Akuma which made his soul very angry at Allen for not being strong enough to move forward. He cursed Allen giving him the ability to see Akuma’s soul, Allen’s anti-akuma hand activated on its own killing Mana on the process.
Allen was then taken in by Marshall Cross, an Exorcist, making Allen his apprentice. This was the start of Allen’s journey towards becoming an Exorcist.

For the Love of D.Gray-Man

I’ve heard of D.Gray-man so many times from my friends and thought that it would be worth it to try and watch the series, but when I saw the first two episodes I was instantly hooked. The series has some dark parts as well as some comic relief which gives the series a sense of balance.
I love everything about Allen Walker. His personality best suits him, he’s good but not too good, he’s funny but totally not an idiot, he’s strong..He’s supper strong^_^ There was this one episode where in he doesn’t have his shirt on…I was totally drooling on the hotness that is Allen Walker (nosebleeds a lot^^),can’t believe he’s only 15yrs old! But then again, he already has Lenalee so I can’t possibly take him (LOL!!)^_^
So as for Allen and Lenalee, they are my bet as a couple. They look really good together, and as the series progresses, you could see that there are subtle hints that Lenalee does like Allen- a lot! And as for Allen, well he does like her that’s for sure, I just wish he is a jealous man^^

One of my favorite characters of the series would be Lavi. He adds some comic relief to the series, which makes him so adorable.

Lavi would be the next Bookman which gives him the dilemma of “not being involved” since Bookmen are there only to witness the war so that they could record what really happens. This is a dilemma since..(ehem!) He likes Lenalee!! Yes, from my observation, he does like Lenalee a lot. This would be clearly seen in the later episodes of the series where in Lenalee was so concerned as to what happened to Allen, leaving her depressed and was somewhat in a state of shock^^

Another favorite of mine would be Yuu Kanda. He is this somewhat cold-hearted exorcist who almost killed Allen during their first meeting. Since then, they always bicker and fight whenever they are paired up in missions. I came to love his character because when he is with Allen, they look like the best of friends even if the quarrel a lot.^^ (weird type of friendship eh?) I love it when they are paired in missions because they make one great team. He was the first person who called Allen “Bean Sprout” which makes Allen irritable, and somehow within the series we’ll find out that almost everyone calls Allen “bean sprout”.^_^ (poor Allen)

One of my favorite villain would be Tikky Mikk. He is one of the Noah’s Clan who serves the Millieniuum Earl.
I can’t quite explain what makes his character so appealing. He lives a double life, meaning whenever summoned by the Earl, he becomes this dark-evil-good looking Noah who kills Exorcists mercilessly. But when he’s not needed by the Earl, he lives a completely different life, he has friends and he loves playing cards.^^ (Talk about a double life!) Hmmm I guess the excitement of having two completely different lives gives him a sense of Evil-but not too Evil aura.^^

D.Gray-man is one of the best series I have watched and so far it continues to exceed my expectations. Every episodes promises to be as good if not better than the last, even their filler episodes are still worth watching (it’s that good).^^ I would recommend this anime series to anyone who loves action, comedy and adventure. That’s it for now of this On Focus post. I hope I had given justice to the great series that is D.Gray-man.^__^

Today is a very special day, you why don’t you?? It’s Ikuta Toma’s birthday!!! So I figured since I can’t send him gifts and stuff, I’d just make a birthday greeting card for him! Nice ne~? Oooohhh I do hope he’d be able to read this someday. Who knows, I might get lucky and by some chance he’d come across this. Anyways, this year had been great for Toma. He finished filming Maou, Voice, and then Majo Saiban, and now he has an upcoming movie titled Ningen Shikkaku (No Longer Human)! I’ll talk about that in the coming posts.

Hmmm yep, yep, a great year indeed. I do hope that this goes on for a very long time, and that more blessings come his way and more opportunities too. He really deserves the best because he’s got the talent and his heart’s in it too. We love you too much Toma-kun! I hope you will continue to bring smiles on our faces and may you have a great year ahead of you!!!

Please Stop Hurting Me

Animal cruelty was never new to me. I have known about these problems growing up, but truth be told, I’ve never put too much thought about standing up for those animals or even lead a campaign against the said cruelties. But one night, while I took my time surfing the net and updating my stats in Facebook, a friend of mine sent me a link to a certain video that was posted on Facebook. I would want to put the video here, simply because I don’t ever want to watch it again. And yes, maybe it is a better idea to put the said video in order to open the minds of people, to move them into making a stand. So if you want to watch the video just search Youtube and put in the search panel “truth about fur”.

To put it simply, I watched animals being stepped on, their heads slammed hard on pavements, and worst- skinned alive. Yes, the truth about those fur coats, those bags, wallets, clothes that have animal skin on them, was clearly presented in that video. Though I am certainly not guilty of all these cruelty, I can still see their wounded faces, their eyes that seem to plea for help. And I see myself reflecting, what have they done to us that they deserve to be treated like that? They may not be human like us, nor are they capable of logic (this is still debatable ^^ ) but they still have life. Blood still flows within their veins, their heart still beats the same way we, humans have blood and heart beating within our chest.

I am writing this to make a stand. I may not be able to campaign or walk around streets carrying placards saying “STOP CRUELTY TO ANIMALS” but I’m making a stand in the way I know how. I do hope people will care to read this post and do hope to be curious enough as to search that video so that their eyes may be opened to the reality that these issues does exist. I know that I will never be the same after watching that video, and I never want to forget it no matter how sick it may be, so that I will always be reminded that these animals deserve to be treated with respect like you would respect any other creation of God

When mother nature strikes back, no one is exempted, whether you’re rich or poor, you cannot possibly escape it’s wrath. That’s what I realized after seeing news and videos of the disaster caused by typhoon Ondoy, which hit the Philippines, taking lives, some still missing and leaving thousands maybe millions of Filipinos without a home. I’m from the Philippines, and though I live way out here in Davao I sense their pain and worries. No one deserves that kind of fate. No one deserves to be stranded on their rooftops, or cast away by flood and tearng them  away from their families and homes. I don’t know in which ways i could help. But seeing pictures and videos of it here on the internet, I was inspired to write down my thoughts and feelings. Let us offer a silent prayer for those who got affected by typhoon ondoy. Let us pray that these families may be able to rebuild their homes, be reunited with their lost relatives, and that those still missing be found and by some miracle be found alive and well. This is one way I thought I could help out. What can you do?

Honestly, I really had no idea what to write today! How can I possibly put to words the AWESOMENESS of Toma? Then I went back to my favorite links of Toma and an idea struck me. Got this idea from: Toma Love

It’s been, more or less, a year and a half ago since I’ve been a fan of Ikuta Toma. Yes, it wasn’t that long ago, but ever since I saw him in HanaKimi I’ve been head over heels for him. I’m not even the type of person who idolize actors, actresses, or even singers and bands but Toma has always been an exception. I can’t say that I idolize him, because i don’t. Maybe, it’s safer to say that I have more respect for him than other actors/ actresses. There is so much about him to admire. He’s dedicated to his work, his friends, his families, and his fans.  So, for the next 12days leading up to his birthday, let us write about what we love and admire about Toma. Celebrating the life of a very dedicated, and very much loved- Ikuta Toma.

Why I love her works:

I have followed Messa on deviantart ever since I have joined the said site. I love her work simply because it has life in it. From the colors, the tones, the expressions, the perspective and so much more she has the ability to sets the mood just right whether it be dark or happy, bring it all together and she could easily bring it to life. I also love how simple yet detailed her works are and before i knew it, I was awaiting and *saving* her works. If only I could ask for a talent, I would ask for hers *LOL!!* she’s just that talented! But growing up are not all heartaches and pains With it comes memories and friendships making it all worth it. For every trial comes wisdom and strength that makes these grown up girls- not damsel in distress, but women who can stand on their own and save themselves instead of waiting to be rescued. We grow up realizing that fairy tales remain in story books and that there are no happy endings, simply because life goes on. Life is not put into a halt when you are at your happiest. We now see the world at its worst- no rainbows, no butterflies but we try to make the best out of every good chance and opportunity. These are what separates us from those damsel in distress. These are what defines us as women.
